The female-fronted, "positive rock" band Flyleaf will be featured at this year's Sonshine Fest (that I've mentioned will also feature Skillet), so I'm looking forward to seeing them. I first heard Flyleaf's "Fully Alive" not on Christian radio but at the strip club. This song became my staple for my stage performances. No, I don't have a Pavlovian response to start taking off my clothes and grinding when this song comes on. Though this song does evoke negative memories for me (alcohol and cocaine abuse, prostitution, having sex with a married man), I still love it because it remains a song with a positive message.
If you like Flyleaf's song, definitely check out their others. I especially like "Sorrow."

If you're like me and fell in love with UnderOath's album They're Only Chasing Safety, you've come to expect a great compilation of screaming choruses and beautiful melodies. Their follow-up album Define the Great Line was recommended to me, and I was excited to go get it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I listened to it. The musicianship is strong, and the boys have their talent together, but the melodic quality I had come to expect from Safety is missing. There was something bordering on radio-friendly that existed in the songs on their previous album.

Seven or eight years ago, I went to the Power of One concert in Wisconsin. Power of One is a one-day music festival of Christian artists. It was there that I first saw and heard Skillet (and developed a crush on lead vocalist John Cooper... and his equally attractive wife and bandmate Korey).
